PBRgen in 2 minutes

With PBRgen, you can create seamless materials right in your browser. The process is simple. Start by creating or uploading a texture. Edit your texture, generate your PBR maps, adjust your material, and finally export it.

To create a new material, click the big blue button on the top right. Choose whether to upload a texture or generate one. To generate a texture, type what you want, or drag an image straight into the prompt box. Material descriptions can be short. The prompt style already handles seamless albedo generation. Need some ideas? Use a preset or enhance your prompt. Change the prompt style to get a different look. Add colors to steer the material generation. Add a guide map to control the layout of your texture.

Choose a generation model. Different models create different styles. I'll use Flux because it gives a good balance between quality, speed, and cost. Not getting the results you want? Try a model with more context. Nano Banana 2 produces excellent quality. Generate several textures and pick your favorite.

To view textures in 2D, use the 2D/3D switch at the top of the viewport. Select the texture you want to continue with. You can go straight to material generation or edit the texture first. In the edit section, you can use AI to modify your texture. When you're happy with it, continue to material generation.

Choose your desired resolution. Then click Create Material to generate your PBR maps. When generation is complete, the tweak section will be filled with your PBR maps. Use the layer stack to adjust the maps to your liking. You can add layers and switch order. You can also add extra maps such as AO and emission. To focus on a specific map, switch between the different viewport modes.

Press L to change the HDR environment. Right click and drag to rotate the lighting. You can always continue from an earlier step of your material by creating a branch from any step in the process. This also works on example materials.

When you're happy with the result, open the export section. Select the maps you want and click Export. You can also create a sharable link and send your material to others.

If you find something that doesn't work well or could be improved, please let us know by using the feedback buttons in the tool, and join our Discord if you have any questions. We're always happy to help.
