Frequently asked questions

What is a PBR material?+

A PBR (Physically Based Rendering) material is a set of texture maps that describe how a surface reacts to light. PBRgen generates the full stack from a single prompt or image — albedo, normal, roughness, metallic, true displacement, ambient occlusion, emission and more (15+ maps).

Are the materials really seamless and tileable?+

Yes. Every material is generated to tile seamlessly, so you can repeat it across large surfaces with no visible seams.

Which formats and engines are supported?+

Export the individual maps or a packed GLB. The materials drop straight into Blender, Unreal Engine, Unity, Substance and Godot, or any tool that reads standard PBR maps.

Can I use my own image as a starting point?+

Yes. Upload a photo or drag an image into the prompt to generate a material from it, or use a guide map to control the layout of your texture.

Can I use the materials commercially?+

The free Starter plan is for personal use. Commercial use is included with a paid plan.

How much does it cost?+

You can try PBRgen without an account. Sign up for 100 free credits, then upgrade to a paid plan when you need more.
